This work is a true triumph of summer and late autumn fruit, partly placed on a surface among ruins and partly inside a glass bowl.
The two small still life canvases exhibited here can be attributed to Pietro Navarra, a pupil of Franz Werner von Tamm.

In the composition and painting style of the two still lifes, it is possible to find references not only to the master von Tamm but also to Spadino, a Roman still life painter who was also successful in Florence and in fact to whom the two canvases were once attributed.
