Tactile Reproduction Room

The small room between the first and second floor now houses 1:1 scale replicas of sculptures that are part of the museum's exhibition.

Made of resin, they were obtained by scanning and 3D printing, assembled and then treated on the outer surface to be durable and washable. These are copies of Donatello's Madonna and Child with Angels, Gioacchino Rossini by Lorenzo Bartolini and the Portrait of Albert Skira by Jacques Lipchitz.

By faithfully reproducing the original details, these copies are a useful tool for communicating art to the visually impaired and provide an opportunity for everyone to discover, through the sense of touch, details that are not perceptible to the eye. It is a way of gaining a deeper understanding of the artwork and its creation by the artist.
