Educational opportunities

The museum is also a place to train, learning in the field the skills required by museum operators to act effectively and consciously in this particular cultural institution and approaching the peculiarities, specificities, dynamics and processes that characterize museum activities and the context in which museum institutions operate.

The Palazzo Pretorio Museum can welcome university and academia graduates for curricular internships.
The internship is aimed at promoting knowledge of museum activities through a field experience in which the intern has the opportunity to test, in a complementary manner to the course of study, theoretical knowledge and practical aspects characterizing a future career in the museum field.
Curricular internships may be activated following the stipulation of an agreement between the Municipality of Prato and the promoter to which the intern belongs, also based on the availability and needs of the museum itself.

The Palazzo Pretorio Museum can welcome students from secondary schools for periods of "field training" through the PCTO-Paths for soft skills and orientation.
The PCTO can be activated following the stipulation of an agreement between the Municipality of Prato and the school to which the interested students belong, having verified the conditions for the preparation of an effective training project.
